Intro To Job Simulation Tests
🛠 The majority of companies use pre-employment tests to assess job-specific skills of candidates (Talent Board).
Job simulation tests mimic the responsibilities of the job you’re applying to, in order to see how you will perform in actual work settings. Formats include:
- In-person, take-home, or online.
- Presentation, task execution, or role-playing.
These tests are popular in large financial firms, investment banks, and startups.
Job Simulation Test Example:
The interviewer might ask you, “Please take the next 15 minutes to analyze the following data that I will show you. Once complete, please talk me through your findings and observations.“
This may sound intimidating, but they can actually be fun and insightful!
It gives you a realistic preview of what the role will be like and a chance to see whether or not it aligns with your expectations.
