Increase your LinkedIn Connections

Start with 100, but aim for 500+ connections on LinkedIn over the next 5 years!

This signifies that you’re a well-connected person and others are more likely to trust in your profile. However, only connect with people you know or genuinely looking to learn from! The quality of connections is more valuable than the quantity.

To do so, consider these steps

1. Search for people you know and are on LinkedIn and send them a connection request.

For example:

  • Your teachers and guidance counselor
  • Your friends

2. Browse the “My Network” tab for more people you might know.

3. After meeting someone new, search and send them a connection request

  • Since you don’t know them well, they’re much more likely to accept your request if you include a personalized message - make sure you greet them, say how you met, and why you’re excited to stay connected and learn from them.

👏 Woohoo! Great work. Having a thoughtful LinkedIn profile will help you leave a positive impression that opens doors to many future opportunities.
