Prioritize Tasks like an Expert
How to prioritize the right things that move the needle

How to Game Plan
For the most part, you're no longer simply given deadlines and specific instructions in school - you must now decide how to prioritize your tasks.
Follow This Table to Rank Your Tasks
We recommend prioritizing tasks based on the level of effort and importance.
💪 Effort: how long it will take you to complete, which depends on how complex the task is.
💎 Importance: how the task is valued by the team/company.
Effort | Importance | Game Plan |
Low (<1 day) | High | Do NOW |
Medium (2-3 days) | Medium | Do NEXT |
High (>3 days) | Low | Do LATER |
Scenario: you’re assigned a market research task as your team is focusing on marketing its new app this week.
💪 Medium Effort: since you have 3 factors to research about 5 competitors, you’re anticipating it would take you about 5 hours spread across 2 days to complete.
💎 High Importance: since the app is launching this week, any tasks related to getting the word out are highly important.
➡️ Result: besides this task, you aren’t responsible for anything else so this task gets bumped up to “Do NOW”!
Get Things Done Efficiently
Your goal is to get tasks done as quickly and well as possible. You won't ever get to a “perfect” 100% work quality but 80% is a good goal.
Have your work be good enough so that you are excited to share it and believe that your team/manager will find it useful.
Remember, practice makes better.
